roject AY Nigeria Goes to School is a youth-led initiative that focuses on ending the spate of Rape, Sexual and Gender Based Violence in our society, with our focus on Youths, children and other vulnerable population.
The initiative which started in 2018, is poised to visiting Secondary Schools in Nigeria to educate and enlighten Students on forms of Abuse & Rape.

The initiative is is an off-shoot of OAP-AY Nigeria Media Company, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CRBN 0955191, BN 2838333).

Our thematic areas include, human rights promotion/protection, advocacy, civic education, mental health promotion, gender equality, capacity building, and research (data collection).

It’s an Advocacy visit to Senior Secondary Schools in Nigeria, starting from Ekiti State to enlighten them about gender equity towards reducing the cases of RAPE AND ATTACK ON GIRLS & VULNERABLE BOYS in the society.

According to Women At Risk International Foundation (WARIF), findings from a national survey carried out in 2014 on violence against children in Nigeria confirmed one in four girls reported experiencing sexual violence in childhood with approximately 70% reporting more than one incident of sexual violence. In the same study, it was found that 24.8% of females aged 18-24 years experienced sexual abuse prior to age 18 of which 5.0 sought help, with only 3.5% receiving any services.

AY NIGERIA has always being committed to the development and growth of the girl child and women in the society and also funding projects that has to do with voluntary service to women, less privileged and the community at large.

We have developed AY NIGERIA Goes to School as an initiative to raise awareness about gender equality, sex education, rape and molestation among teenagers in Nigeria, through;

If the older generation can’t be changed, how about MOULDING the younger generation on the right values as regards Gender Based Violence, and throw a shot at raising a RAPE FREE GENERATION, hoping to hit the bulls eye.
